Sponsored in part by an IDEAS (Increase and Diversify Education Abroad for U.S. Students) grant, the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business developed International Business Consulting in Uruguay (IBC Uruguay), an embedded study abroad program to Montevideo, Uruguay based around a project-based consulting course targeted at undergraduate business students.
The course content and project-based learning activity aimed to expand student skills in consulting, project management, and cross-cultural communication with the overall goal of increasing their global perspectives and general employability, while meeting identified business needs of the partner Uruguayan companies.
After the fall 2025 pilot program, the Terry College of Business team developed a set of digital resources to share "Lessons Learned" from the experiences of faculty, staff, and students on the program. These digital resources are available to the public in order to share knowledge with other international educators and study abroad administrators.
